W ramach programu międzynarodowej współpracy uczelnianej Politechniki Krakowskiej z Hochschule Düsseldorf (University of Applied Sciences), prof. Dorothea Schwung prowadziła działalność wykładowczą i dydaktyczną w zakresie sztucznej inteligencji, uczenia maszynowego i automatyzacji w szkole letniej od 22-29.07.2024.
Prof. Dorothea Schwung jest profesorem ds. Künstliche Intelligenz & Data Science (AI & Data Science) w Fakultet Elektro‑ und Informationstechnik, Hochschule Düsseldorf. Zajmuje się cyfryzacją i digitalizacją, pełniąc funkcje odpowiedzialnej ds. internacjonalizacji oraz przewodniczącej rady studiów (ZDD, Hochschule Düsseldorf).
Dorothea Schwung uzyskała stopień doktora inżyniera (Dr‑Ing.) na Uniwersytecie Duisburg‑Essen. Pracowała m.in. w FH Südwestfalen oraz w przemyśle (BHTC, MAN Diesel & Turbo). Od września 2021 roku zajmuje stanowisko profesora na Hochschule Düsseldorf .
Obszary badawcze: multi-agent Reinforcement Learning (MARL) i teoretyczne metody gier (game-theoretical AI); optymalizacja energetyczna w robotyce i systemach autonomicznych; sterowanie adaptacyjne (uczenie wzmacniające w sterowaniu PID) oraz przemysłowe procesy automatyzowania i cyfryzacji EI Hochschule Düsseldorf.
Prof. Schwung kieruje projektem „GAIME for ROS” (Game theoretical AI MEthods for ROS), który łączy podejście teorii gier z MARL w robotyce, skupiając się na poprawie efektywności energetycznej i optymalizacji zasobów.

As part of the international cooperation between Cracow University of Technology and Hochschule Düsseldorf (University of Applied Sciences), Prof. Dorothea Schwung delivered lectures and workshops in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and automation. She delivered lectures and conducted teaching activities in the fields of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and automation during the summer school held from July 22 to 29, 2024.
Prof. Dr‑Ing. Dorothea Schwung holds a professorship in Artificial Intelligence & Data Science (AI & Data Science) at the Faculty of Electrical and Information Engineering, Hochschule Düsseldorf. She is a member of the Digitalization and Digital Competence Centre (ZDD), responsible for internationalisation and chairs the academic council .
She earned her Dr.-Ing. degree at the University of Duisburg‑Essen and has held positions at FH Südwestfalen and in industry (BHTC, MAN Diesel & Turbo). Since September 2021, she has been a professor at Hochschule Düsseldorf .
Research interests include: multi-Agent Reinforcement Learning (MARL) and game-theoretical AI methods; energy-aware robotics and resource optimization; adaptive control (reinforcement learning in PID control) and industrial automation and digital transformation EI Hochschule Düsseldorf.
She leads the “GAIME for ROS” project (Game-theoretical AI MEthods for ROS), integrating game theory with MARL in robotics to improve energy efficiency and resource management.
